Fire Team Menace: Saviors of Humanity

Was messing around with the photobooth in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, had the idea of making baseball-card style posters for my main soldiers, complete with cheesy quotes and a short blurb. It's really pretty restrictive (for instance there's no way to adjust the length of the ribbon thingy), but I still had a ton of fun with it.

The classes used in this are from Chimera Classes Beta.

- B

Aloysius Barrett
DOB: 21 September 1991
Callsign: “Doc”

A mild-mannered pol-sci grad student before the invasion, Aloysius now serves as the combat medic for the XCOM fireteam. His wife, Maryam, died shortly after the war while giving birth to their daughter Yasmina. He has raised his daughter on his own ever since.

As one of the older members of the fireteam, he has become something like the team dad. Aloysius retains an eccentric sense of humor that he loves to inflict on the team, much to the embarrassment of his daughter.

Aloysius' chief concern is for his daughter's safety. His disapproval of her recklessness on the battlefield is a constant source of friction between father and daughter.

Yasmina Barrett
DOB: 06 October 2016
Callsign: “Datura”

Yasmina is among the first generation of humans born after the alien invasion. Her mother died soon after Yasmina's birth, in large part due to a lack of advanced medical equipment in the refugee camp. She was raised by her father, Aloysius, in a succession of resistance settlements until they were both picked up by the Avenger.

In battle, Yasmina is a highly-proficient close-combat specialist who thrives at the bleeding edge of the advance.

Though they are still close, Yasmina increasingly chafes against what she perceives to be her father's overprotective nature. She has an unrequited crush on Tango, with whom she shares a similar worldview.

Temuera Morrison
DOB: 26 December 1980 (?)
Callsign: “Tango”

Though certainly a man of Maori descent with military training, the rest of Temuera's past is somewhat murky and shrouded in contradiction. Fragments here and there suggest he may have been the genetic donor for a top-secret government project codenamed "Project Kamino", though all records end with the destruction of the old world order twenty years ago.

Note from Central: He is in exceptionally good shape for a man of his reported age. Tygan suspects Tango may in fact be one of Temuera's clones.

Temuera was married briefly to Rebecca (Bluescreen). Though they are now separated, they remain best friends, and are a formidable tag team on the battlefield.

Rebecca Crawford
DOB: 18 June 2011
Callsign: “Bluescreen”

Something of a child prodigy growing up in occupied Montreal, Rebecca was interdicted and arrested by ADVENT while attempting to hack into their network. Fortunately, the resistance caught wind of her and broke her out before her scheduled liquidation.

Ripped from her comfortable urban middle-class life, Rebecca nevertheless wasted no time making herself extremely useful to her new home, cobbling together a custom GREMLIN and upgrading her settlement’s communications network in short order. When the resurrected XCOM came knocking for recruits, she was an obvious candidate for the role of field tech.

Rebecca was married briefly to Tango Morrison. Though they are now separated, they remain best friends, and are a formidable tag team on the battlefield. Rebecca is also especially fond of Firebug Mina, who shares her chaotic sense of humor. She considers Mina the little sister she never had.

Anna Pavlova
DOB: 03 August 1999
Callsign: "Roundhead"

Anna, or “Roundhead” and she is more commonly known, almost never takes off her helmet.

Little is known for sure about how she came by it. One rumor has it that she took the helmet as a trophy after killing the ADVENT officer who massacred her family in Kiev. Others whisper that she was in love with a late ADVENT officer, and that the helmet is in fact a lover’s memento.

Note from Central: Let sleeping dogs lie. Not only have we verified that Roundhead does not have an ADVENT chip, she has proven her loyalty in combat many times over.

The helmet naturally makes interpersonal relationships challenging. As a result Roundhead only has one friend of any closeness - Dakka Vincent.

Vincent Dakarian
DOB: 11 January 2008
Callsign: “Dakka”

Vincent has been obsessed with bullets and their rapid-fire delivery (or “DAKKA”, as he calls it) for as long as he can remember. In his mind, it’s simple. Dakka is always better than no dakka, and more dakka is always better than less dakka. No exceptions.

Vincent’s closest friend is Roundhead Anna, the only one who seems to understand his all-consuming passion for ordnance. Though Roundhead perplexingly prefers lesser amounts of bigger dakka to more dakka, it is a flaw Dakka is willing to overlook.

Mina Jensen
DOB: 22 April 2019
Callsign: "Firebug"

Young Mina is always brimming with nervous energy, and her favorite way to release it is to set things on fire. Animate, inanimate; alive, or not, it doesn’t matter, as long as it burns.

As the youngest member of the fireteam, Mina is afforded some degree of leeway, which she does not hesitate to take advantage of when it suits her, even though she rather resents her de facto role as the team mascot. She looks up to Bluescreen as a big sister and role model.

Claire Fonseca
DOB: 30 October 2004
Callsign: "Furiosa"

Claire has never been one for half-measures. She has one goal in life - to kill ADVENT, and that she does, to the exclusion of everything else. Her life is nothing but killing aliens or preparing to do so.

Typically, the one vice she indulges in, nicotine, she also embraces entirely - she is almost never seen without a cigarette half-dangling from her lips.

Because of her single-minded focus, she is an excellent sharpshooter, able to put a bullet through an eye socket at half a kilometer in a chaotic firefight.

Zaynab Moutari
DOB: 26 February 2012
Callsign: "Mother Hen"

The oldest of five siblings, Zaynab has always been the responsible one. Every decision and action had to be carefully considered from every angle to ensure an optimal outcome. After a retaliation strike decimated the settlement she called home, she came to the conclusion that the best way to protect her family was to join the fight against ADVENT.

Her callsign “Mother Hen” stems from an affectionate nickname ribbing her for her cautious nature, though she would really prefer to characterize it instead as “methodical”.

Zaynab is a protege of Doc Barrett, though she secretly wishes to be more.

Valerie Vasquez
DOB: 08 November 2010
Callsign: "Valkyrie"

When Valerie was gravely injured in a firefight, the medic fused experimental cybernetics into her body in a last ditch attempt to save her life. Save her life it did, but the haphazard nature of the procedure also saddled her with chronic and intense pain. (She never asked for this!)

Valerie, reborn, brings the same grim determination to the fight as she did before, only it’s now augmented by machine strength and alloy plating. She gets through the pain by fixing her inner gaze on the day when the aliens are expelled from Earth, knowing that when that day comes, she will finally be able to end her life in good conscience.

Samara Trieu
DOB: 19 September 2008
Callsign: "Siren"

As a toddler, Samara along with her entire family was carted off by ADVENT into one of their processing facilities. Only with the secret intervention of one of the researchers at the facility was Samara saved from liquidation; the other members of her family were not so fortunate.

Her psionic potential lay dormant until the settlement she lived in was struck in an ADVENT retaliation attack, foiled only by the timely arrival of XCOM. Afterwards, she begged the rebels to take her on. Drawing from a deep well of rage to fuel her psionic powers, Samara is able to control the battlefield by dominating the minds of her opponents.

More recently, Samara has been able to find a measure of peace in the company of her wife, fellow psionic Rosamund, the Witchblade.

Rosamund Williams
DOB: 19 September 2013
Callsign: "Witchblade"

Rosamund was born Raymund, the only son of two devoted Templars. In the world that was, the dogmatic Templars would have forced Rosamund to suppress her true self, but with the alien invasion and the manifestation of psionic energy in humans, she was free to psionically remold her body into the self she saw in her mind’s Eye.

In battle, Rosamund is a terrifying close-quarters combatant, dashing in, savaging her target with psionic blades, then zipping away again with dizzying speed.

Rosamund is married to Samara the Siren, a fellow psionic on the fireteam.

Brian Chilton
DOB: 24 May 2009
Callsign: Cook-Cook

There’s no point in mincing words here: Brian Chilton, called “Cook-Cook” due to his disturbing relish for burning his opponents alive, is an evil psychopath. Even among a ragtag crew of hardened soldiers,  revolutionists and sociopaths, Brian stands out as a deeply unhinged individual.

Note from Central: At the risk of stating the obvious, Commander, I strongly recommend only sending Cook-Cook on operations where there are no civilians present.
